King fishing begins with the bait opener on May 16th, and peaks during the month of June. The Kasilof is a fishery unlike no other, and is highly requested amongst repeat guests. The average King Salmon is smaller than those in the Kenai, but they are more plentiful, and the drift boat only regulations create an extrely pleasant atmosphere that folks can't wait to get back to. This trip is highly recommended, no matter what time of year you decide to visit.

Shhhhhhh... don't tell anyone, but the Kasilof River is one of the best kept secrets on the Peninsula during the month of July. While everyone is distracted by the lure of the Kenai River, some folks choose to try their luck on the Kasilof instead... and they are often rewarded with giant King Salmon that average 30-40 lbs, very little traffic/company, and an experience they will never forget
